ARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!

My SMC Barricade wireless router is on the fritz. It has WAN its getting connection, but it stopped broadcasting WLAN. Nothing was changed, no plugs were unpluged, I have it on 128WEP, and MAC filtering, so it is doubtfull someone got in and changed it. I dont have it connected to anything via LAN, and that will be my last hope to diagnose it. But the cable wire is on the other side of the room.........

This freaken blows, it had a 3+ month uptime, with not 1 connection loss, and now it just stops cold....

Any sugestions?

My SMC doesn't let a computer resume after hibernate on it's 128WEP... so I then have to reboot. Do you have another computer to test the wireless cards?

I have 2 comps using it, they were both down. The WLAN light was off on the router.

It started working again, after I rebooted my computer, weird. I left my wifes on the whole time, and it connected immediatly after mine shut down.......................

Sometimes these things just happen......

Damn gremlins.

hmmm sounds like the same problem that I had... because the 128WEP killed the computer connection when it was idle too long.

i disabled WEP because well it's weak security anyways, and just opted for MAC filtering.

I'm using 128 WEP on a D-Link 900AP+. The client (a Mac PowerBook G4) is constantly waking up and sleeping during the day as I use it. I've never had a problem.

Something to consider if you get tired of the SMC AP.
