I kind of learned the basics of PS through just messing around, so I don't know of any good tuturials for learning the easy stuff.
But what I've used to learn some intermediete-level tricks is <a href="http://www.phong.com/tutorials/">this</a> and <a href="http://www.designsbymark.com/pstips/index.html">this</a>. Hopefully those are helpful to you. |

has some free tutorials, some are even video tutorials. A tutorial can show you how to use the tools, but you wont learn anything till you dink around and create something. |

I have found the store-bought books aren't very helpful. It's like trying to watch TV with your eyes closed.
The best tutorial I've found is the Total Training series. I bought a 6-disc DVD training set and it was really helpful and got me over the hump on some of the more difficult areas of Photoshop. It cost me $200 but the time saved was well worth it.

the quickest way i can think to learn is:
1)learn what each tool does and how they all work 2)look around at other people's examples 3)dissect each of their photos and try to reproduce it yourself.. in a sense like driving a car.. i'm only 16 so i can say that.. but once i knew what everything was and started to dink around... it got easy:nce i understood what each tool was and what to do.. it was easy.. i hope it helped.. |

Thanks a lot to everyone for posting these. I tend to bang my head against the wall until the hole is big enought to be deemed a door. These things can really help.
