Been trying to figure out how to create a .txt file of the Mp3's that I have for reference, or keeping in my truck. I'd like to be able to make a list of all the filenames in my music directory. Any ideas? Thanks.

a DOS command:
dir /b /s > mp3list.txt

it will make a file called Mp3list.txt

Or if you have a list in Winamp, you can make a nifty lil html document showing all of them.

i would say go with the winamp route you more than likely already have it so nothing needed to download and while you are making your list just make a pls or m3u file (playlists) and drop it on your desktop of the entire directory and hit the shuffle button away you go hours of listening pleasure.

Haven't used winamp. I usually use MP9. Are you saying I should try it?

well i mean it is totally up to you but i actually love winamp vs wmpX for my mp3 playing only, for just about every other format i use wmp and that is just my preference not to mention im still running an old version of winamp and have heard of bunches of people bitching about newer versions.

i'd suggest anyone using a windows OS to try winamp if they've not.

any of the 2.x versions. nice, simple, not too fluffy of a prog.

agreed, with the right set of plugins, i have been able to make winamp2 do just about everything i could possibly hope for in a player..

was a WA 2.77 user until I saw the light and switched to foobar2000 and uninstalled WA completely. First tried it in the 0.3x days back in march or so and finally switched to it completely around 0.55 - currently using the 0.7 build.
Not fond of having visual buttons or a seekbar to clutter up my media player and fb2k with the old-school look and keyboard hotkeys suits me perfectly. And the newer version do have seekbars and buttons "out of the box" now for those who actually want that kind of thing.
the very flexible interface (link) can be customised much more than Winamp. I have kept the same look here for six months (that picture of louis Armstrong from High Society is from the transparent window showing my then-current desktop)
