EZpics Primer
Can someone please explain to this computer novice how to use the EZpics. It would be much appreciated. Cheers.
|
is easy :)
basically, the trick is that the pics should be numbered in sequential order (altho EZPics (and some other utils)) can also d/l a list of urls.. so, the most important is making the EZCodes. is like this - Code:
http://www.somehotpicshere.com/imagedir/0001beginningnumber.jpg?0100endingnumber.jpg then, just load your EZCode(s) and 'Go'! simple and brief, but hopefully sufficient. :) |
OR, if you don't want to write it yourself -
Open EZpics Click on EZcoder Copy and Paste the URL of the very first pic (something/something001.jpg) into the "URL 1" slot. Copy and Paste the URL of theh very last pic (something/something999.jpg) in the "URL 2" slot. Make sure there is a check in the Send EZcode to main window box Click Generate And you made a code. Close the EZcode Maker window, click on EZ. All the pics will be added to the queue. Press GO to start downloading. ---------------------------------------- GRABBER It goes through a web page, and looks for links to images, or whatever you have in the filter. All of the things it finds will be added directly to your queue. If you want, put a couple (or a lot) of links to webpages. One per line please. It will go through ALL of them and add what it finds to your queue. It may take some time, because it has to download each page and look for links. Imagine around 10-20 seconds for each page. |
Where can i get EZPics?
|
Don't bother. It is a worthless app.

ezpics works very well if you know what it is used for. It is not useful if you are trying to archive a site. What makes EZpics a great tool is that it it really simple to use, and it does a good job (tiny errors every so often) of grabbing specific file types. |

Drider_it, I'm also using XP so that isn't the problem. If I remember correctly the program comes in a zip file with the app and 3 other files inside. If you don't extract all the files it won't work. Keep all those files in the same folder and make a copy of the shortcut to open the app and put that on your desktop or in your quicklaunch toolbar if you use one. That may clear up the problem. |
k will try tomorrow..

I only just found this thread now, and am kicking myself for not finding it sooner. Man, I've really got to improve my computer knowledge. I fell so inadequate here sometimes.
|
Do exactly what sixate said and it'll work fine pretty much all the time. I've had problems with a couple sites while trying to download, but it was always server trouble, not the program.
Other than that, it's always worked great everytime I've used it. |
wow, very nice app.

There's a VB Runtime file (vb300.dll, I think) that you need to have to get EZPics to run. You should be able to find it where you find the program. Download the DLL file, and put it in the same directory as EZPics to get it to run. Here's the link to get the runtime: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0...1-103-1.lst-7- |

i think what mahlerisgod means is other programs do it better and faster. Personaly i use firefox extension called downthemall to get whole gallerys. but it dosnt do everything i would like. i used ezpics way back in the day and it was a decent program. Kinda odd that it dosnt come with all the .dll files you need when you install it though.

Not sure if anyone else out there is still using ezcodes but there is a java app called jpics that works (so linux/osx/etc users can now use ezcodes with ease :) )
