Program for converting Audio CD's to MP3 format
Hey all,
Im looking for a program that will convert CD Tracks to MP3 Format... I thought maybe Winamp would do this but I cant figure out how... anyways anyone know of a program i can download... possibly a freeware out there that will do the trick? DB |
Musicmatch. It's the best I've found so far. Click on the link, then click on basic for the free version.

CDex, its part of the GNU so you know its good, very small, but it works so well and so fast
|
you can try using the windows media player "copy from cd" function
|
I second the "CDex" nomination.
|
I use Cdex too.

Ah the eternal question. I used to use my nero program, then I switched to Creative playcenter. They both access CD databases and are pretty decent in quality, but I felt I was still missing something. Then I discovered variable bitrate and exact cd-copy. My Creative ZEN has never sounded better.

Best one i found is here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
and this converter does multiple file formats and such I recommend it Highly!! -SImo |

unless you need the files for a portable player and/or have limited HD space, then I would recommend using a lossless format such as APE, FLAC, or even Shorten
on the lossy side of the fence, Musepack almost always sounds better then MP3 with bitrates around 170kbps for the standard setting. if you want to stick with MP3, then I would rip raw WAV files with EAC (Exact Audio Copy) and encode the MP3 files with the LAME 3.90.3 and the recommended settings. this setting: Quote:

Audiograbber: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/
Small install, various codec support, lots of settings, and rips tracks. It doesn't try and bundle 500 other features in with it. |
CDex is verry good.
