Video Card Problems?
Hiya, I gots a big problem and I need all those compuiter whizzes to help me
My year-old Radeon 9700 (it's not the official version it's a video card that uses the same chip, sites here: http://www.tyan.com/products/html/g9700pro.html) Anyways, it's having some problems, first off there are yellow lines that go horizontally across my moniter whenever I go into Windows and when I do I can only last in there for a minute before my computer freezes up and it restarts, when it reboots it shows an error that has something to do with failure to draw from the drivers or something then it freezes and does it over and over again. I'm really frustrated and I have no clue on what to do and I'm forced in using a crappy 8500 and I can't even play in 800x600 in CS without lagging Please help a CS-deprived brother out Thanks, NastyMan BTW here are my system specs: P4 1.4 Ghz 768 Megs of RAM Radeon 9700 DirectX 9 Windows XP Prof. Last edited by NastyMan; 09-25-2003 at 04:12 PM.. |

My best guess is that either you need to try updating your video drivers, or more likely your card is going (has gone?) bad and you should check to see if you can get it replaced (if it is still under warranty).
I would guess that the problems taht you are having could be caused by the video card overheating, so you could check to see if you need to replace the video card fan. |

Other than the good tips that heylal256 provided: Do you have good case cooling? Also, I had a recent problem that took me a while to pin down. One of my monitor cables was pulling too hard on the connector, at the card. The symptom was video corruption, then restart. But I would start with the vid driver.
