used to save jpeg gif etc. now only bmp WTF?
Hi!
This question may have been asked and answered before, but I only come in here when I have a question. When it comes to computers, I'm very short on answers of the non-smartass variety. So here goes. When visiting websites like Something Awful, Steak and Cheese, Robb's Celebs, etc. I used to be able to right-click save jpegs, gifs, tiffs, etc. to the hard drive. For the last two or three weeks every time I do that it will only save the thing as a bitmap. I can go to mspaint and open the bitmap and resave as jpeg or whatever, but when I check the Properties of the pic on the website it says it's a jpeg. So why can't it save the jpeg? My suspicion is that some setting or other got changed but I don't know what. It's not a major problem cuz of the re-save thing, but I never had to do it before and I don't know why I have to do it now. Oh, yeah, one other question (unrelated). I've seen avatars that cycle between two or three pictures (bundy's and the 9-11 thing for example) and I'd like to know how ya do that. What kind of software would I need to generate one myself? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

the first question has been answered so many times! maybe we need to make a sticky out of it. as for the moving avatar's, it's animated gif's. go to www.downloads.com and search for 'animated gif'. they have lots of prog's that will do this.
