Remote IIS Management?
Ok, so, because of the way my company has stuff setup for their web site, when I add a .net project, I have to upload to 4 servers and then "Create Application" on 4 servsers.
Is there a way I can do this remotely? I know I can do it in Terminal Services, but its a pain to do that 4x for each install. Is there a webapp that can do this for me? Thanks |

Any machine running IIS5 or better (windows 2000 or better) and even iis4.0 on NT would allow remote IIS management.
After you have pulled up MMC and added the IIS snap-in just right click IIS..select connect to, and choose the server you want to administer. If you are connecting from a machine that IS NOT running w2k server you will probably have to install the adminpak.msi to make all of the server snap-ins available from your professional or XP workstation. (xp and w2k adminpaks are different). Not sure how your systems are secured, but firewall's and b/e IP natting, or even netbios over tcp/ip being disabled could throw a wrench into things. It is definately ~possible~ though to remotely administer IIS. -bear
