M-Audio Woes
I just replaced my primary harddrive this afternoon because it was an the fritz. That means I have to start over from scratch and everything was going fine until it came to my sound card. Everytime I try to install the driver it goes through the motions and it comes to ask me if I want to restart my computer, I, of course click OK. Everytime the computer is restarted its like I didn't do anything. Does anyone have any tips on how to correct this annoying problem. Thanks

Go to Control Panel-->Sounds and Audio Advices, and make sure that your sound card is set as the default device. It still may be using the onboard audio. I had to do that after I installed the drivers for my card. Hopefully it's something simple like that.

Unfortunately, I can't even do that. The drop down bars are highlighted so I can't even chose the device. Any more suggestions? I am desperate. Thanks

check the control panels system, hardware settings and look for a yellow exclamation mark by any hardware, if so check into what its saying.
