help...cant sign into hotmail anymore
 

I have windows 98 w/comcast cable connection. About a month ago I couldnt get onto the internet at all. My g/f messed around with it and got it working again. I think she said something about not enough memory or something. Since then I can get everywhere on the net except I cant sign into my Hotmail account or messenger. I have tried everything at msn help site over and over to no avail. I have tried to make a new account and it wont even let me onto the site....just saying page cant be displayed. Anyone out there have any clue on whats going on here? Thanks.

are your cookies enabled?

also, try to access your account through outlook express.
hotmail provides free pop to outlook exp.

I have put my security settings according to there recomendations. How do you enable cookies? Sorry for being so computer illiterate.

try this...go to tools ->internet options->connections->settings-> and then untick all the proxy server boxes.

i have the same problem except they said i tried to log in unsuccessfully too many times. I waited like 2 weeks and it still says it. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't think it could be a memory problem. Check your cookie settings, like The_Dude said, and try emptying your cache. (Go to Tools->Internet Options and hit "delete files" where it talks about temporary files.

I made some firewal/privacy changes last year and had the same problem. I was perturbed and had to change to Yahoo for an anon/free email. After the learning curve, and adjusment to no spam, I couldn't be happier with such a free service.

Get used to no hotmail. It is horrible! I would check my hotmail and <b>NO</b> mail there was for me directly! It would consist of eleventy three cajilion spam messages for my address, none for me personally! I would forward them to "abuse@hotmail.com". They would get pissed, ban me for a few days, and the cycle would continue.

Once I stepped up my security I could not login to hotmail. No big loss.

OK, that was my story. I am glad I had a place to tell it.

It's not the hotmail that I miss it's the messenger and city chats that I miss. Oh well.
