Googlegear.com had officially changed it's name to ZipZoomFly.com because they are complete nincumpoops.

Who else is completely disappointed and nauseated by this very bad marketing decision?

Zip....zoom....fly? .....what the hell? Did they at least give us a reason?

I always wondered if they would run into trouble with Google over trademark.

Maybe there is really another reason for the change.

Before:

"Uh, I got it at Googlegear."

Now:

"Dude, where'd you get that mobo?"
"Uh, I got it at ZipZoomFly."

Just doesn't have the same ring to it.

why does that look like a bean in their logo?

I'll still shop from them, but it sounded much cooler to say I was ordering from Googlegear than from Zipzoomfly.

I mean it just sounds like one of those failed dot coms.

I used to work in Koreatown (in LA). I'll never forget the name of a computer store that had closed down. It was called:

ShineVery Computers

I'm not sure which is worse - ZipZoomFly or ShineVery.

At least ShineVery had an Engrish angle to it.

googlegear.com is now http://www.google.com/googlegear.html .. maybe google wants to sell stuff now so they wanted that url? ;)

as long as they offer the same products prices and service as in the past i will still buy from them.

I just assumed Google finally got around to telling them either change it or we'll see you in court, but i agree its a stupid name.

Sounds like a crazy Japanese name for a special move in an arcade game.

Same here. Then I sent Newegg an email and told them they're going to be getting all my future business. They seemed pleased by that.
