Linux Newbie; Experiences going from Windows

I have been experimenting with Red Hat 9.0 on my Fiancee's Laptop. It has been working well. What experience, strength, frustration or tips do you have for a Linux Newbie?

you should probably post this in Tilted Computers for more in depth replies. Plenty of computer nerds hanging around on that board!

One of the little things I had to learn was that I have to mount a floppy before I can save to it. It sounds like a small thing but it took forever for me to figure out. I don't know what else to say, most of the things I've learned as I am transitioning are little things like that.

tar -zxvf - for tar.gz file
tar -jxvf - for tar.bz2 file
rpm -Uvh - for Installing/Upgrading RPMs
rpm --erase - for erasing installed RPMs

I'll think of more stuff after I click "Submit", I know it hehe.
