XP 2600 clock speed
I just got my new XP 2600 with 333 bus. Everything is working okay but I'm getting a clock speed of 1252 mhz. It seems like it should be faster then that. Is this right?

That seems too low in my opinion. It should be closer to 2 ghz. Check your motherboard settings.

I suspect that your multiplier is set too high or low. Check your BIOS and make sure RAM is set to 166 and multi is 12.5 (166 X 12.5 = 2.08 MHz.) What brand motherboard did you get?

Thanks for the help. I am using a Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro2 motherboard.
the cpu is a 2600 XP 333 bus the ram is 2 512 meg chips, 400 bus. I tried changing the multiplier to 12.5 but it didn't make a difference. My computer is also totally not benchmarking where it should be either. thanks -happymaan |

You need to change 100 to 166 and you'll be fine. |
Hey thanks a lot guys. I have a fast computer now!
changing to 166 did the trick. -happymaan |
I thought the multi was the problem, but sixate is right. With my setup, if I set my multi above 12.5 I get 1.X GHz readings, that's why I thought your prob was the multiplier. I can use 11.5, 12 and 12.5 only. I'm glad that you fixed the prob. Now, overclock it!
