Screen Res
Allright.. A friend of mine, and I got in an arugment for what the average screen res most people run at... so i'm asking you guys to help me out... in the poll, put the screen res at which you run.
|
Mine's 1280X1024, but I have a flat panel, and that's it's native resolution. I would like to go higher but can't.

1024 - but at work, we assume the default is 800x600, just to be sure everyone can see all of our content.
|
I have this one running at 1280x1024, but i have another computer running at 1600x1200.
Does anyone use those weird rectangular resolutions? |
My iMac runs 1400x900. It makes desktop backgrounds pretty screwy. :|
|
1600x1200
oh, and 1024x768 on my second monitor. |
1280x1024
My monitor could do 1600x1200 with decent refresh rate, but in that case I have to wear my glasses. And I hate them... |
1600x1200 on my laptop

Running Dual 1280x1024 LCDs

I use 1600x1200 |
for some reason my Dell won't run in True Color. Really annoying.....they gave me a shit video card. My monitor is old, but on my old 1997 HP, I could run True Color
|
Whoa, some of you must have huge monitors, i run mine on 1024x768 and my monitor is like 19 inches.
|
I use 1024x768 because usually running anything higher starts making the text and icons on the desktop look too small (using the default windows fonts and not changing it to the large fonts/icons).
I would prob use a higher resolution if I needed the dektop real estate, but for surfing and playing full screen games 1024x768 seems to be the best resolution for me. Then again some people are limited by the size of thier monitors.... i wouldn't want to see a peson on a 15" monitor trying to run 1600x1200... |
800 x 600 here. I don't need to strain my eyes any further. hehe. I need a bigger moniter.

running 1280x1024 on a Sony 21"er for the main audio workstation.
would like to go higher but it looks "funny" when I do that, not sure if it is my somewhat aging poorly ATI AIW 7500 or the monitor. my secondary 17" monitor sharing the Debian and Win2k box runs at 1280x1024 as well usually. |
1280. my monitor is holding me back :(
|
1600x1200 all the way!
It's the max resolution for my monitor and it does it at a nice 85Hz.... It doesn't let me go any further, but I don't know if I would... I like it very much like this! |
1600x1200 , or 2048x1536 when ive had plenty of sleep :)
The average resolution is between 800x600 and 1024x768 16 bit, our games report back what people use. |
1024x768 is mine... pretty average, but it pleases me.
|
800x600 and i still need glasses to see .the price of getting old
|
1280x960
|
1600 x 1200 on my 19" Sony crt.
1280 x 1024 on my 17" Sont lcd. |
1280x1024, I'd go higher but can't... damn monitor (though it's still huge and awesome).
FYI 1280x960 is the proper aspect ratio, somehow 1280x1024 got standardised, not sure how. |
I'm running 1280x1024 on my 21" monitor...maybe I'll bump it up now knowing that I'm running a screwed up aspect ratio.
|
really, if everything LOOKS right to you, who cares if it's "proper" aspect ratio?
|
1600x1200 on a 19" flat screen
|
1024 x 768
Any larger than that and I wouldn't be able to read any text because I like sitting back a bit from the screen. |
1280 bia bia
|
2560*1024 here.
|
1152x864 here... no option for that
|
1600x1200 + 1024x768
|
I only have a 11" viewable monitor, so 1024X768

1280.960, no option so i voted for 1280.1024

2304x864. Have that Nvidia DualView thing. Two monitors that w2k thinks are one.
Any higher res and text becomes an unholy bitch to read, so I don't really see the point. I have seen some people who jack the hell out of their screen res, and then they can't see shit on it cos everything is so small. |
1920x1080. Using an ATI Radeon 9000 on a SGI GDM-90W11 24" monitor.
