need help with Linksys drivers
I am trying to downgrade my linksys drivers for my router to fix a certain problem with an online game that i play.
In order to fix that problem it was suggested to download the 1.39 driver. I've downloaded teh 1.39 version. however, when i try to patch that version i get the following error: "failed to update the data into flash ROM, please retry" i'm using my ip and p/w as default anyone got a suggestion about what i'm doing wrong or know what that error relates to? i've posted this topic on another forum a few days ago, but havn't gotten any replies yet. maybe you guys can help me out. edit: I'm using Linksys BEFSR41 router thanks |
You may not need to downgrade.. What game is it? Is it everquest? I have the router as well, and the only games I have issues with now is Link 2003, and Battlefield 1942 when hosting sometimes.

If you're having network problems, you might want to check online which ports (TCP/UDP) are used by your particular game and then do some port-forwarding on the router for those ports. Or if you don't have any other machines on your network that require direct access to the internet, you can just plop your computer into the DMZ and you should be all set.
Make sure you run some sort of firewall though, or at the very least keep yourself patched up with the latest Windows Updates... |
