Help w/ Display Settings Problems in Windows ME. - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

When ever I go into my Display Settings my computer freezes up. My computer for some reason is only running in 16 colors and when I try to fix it, the damn things pretty much shuts off. (Monitor goes black, and I have to turn it off and back on) Can someone please help me out here?

My guess, maybe your vid card hasn't been installed properly. Check your device manager and look for anything that has an exclaimation mark next to it.

go up to the video card manufacturer's website and download (and install) the latest drivers avaliable.

this should fix the problem.
