calender/scheduling program for comp...
ok well this summer i switched to Thunderbird instead of Outlook... and its great i love it... does email great... but now that school is approaching im needing the scheduling abilities of outlook... ya know being able to put all my classes in... and drs appointments and all that... and have it remind me 15 minutes b4hand(Saved me from missing several doc appointments) outlook worked really well for that stuff...
i didnt see a thunderbird extension that looked like it would do it... does anyone know any programs that will do all this for me? |
I would say that I know, but I don't. But I will tell you this:
Mozillafoundation or whatever it is calling itself these days is working on "Sunbird" the calendar portion of the Mozilla projects. For now, check http://www.mozilla.org to see if a nightly build is uploaded. Forewarning: Its probably buggy as hell. |
well after looking... ive found a "experimental test build of Mozilla Sunbird for Windows" i dunno... buggy stuff is annoying... i think ill wait a lil while... nothin like post its on the side of the monitor...

What is this Thunderbird? And what was your problem with Outlook?

There is an intro to Mozilla Thunderbird here: http://www.nidelven-it.no/articles/i...to_thunderbird
1. It is less vunerable to virus attacks than Outlook of which 99% of today's viruses are Outlook viruses 2. It has built in spam filtering 3. It can be configured any way you want it with themes or extensions. |
yah what they said...
as for my problem with outlook... there wasnt really one... just wanted to try something new... and after i had to format it was a perfect opportunity to try thunderbird... well i downloaded Sunbird... its pretty good... encounter a couple things that are only partially implemented... but nothing too big... a minimize to tray would be nice... but not a big deal... |
I was looking for an alternative too... I used Outlook and I have to admit I loved it. I may go back.
Until Mozilla gets its calendar matured, Palm Software is the best. I thought you had to have a palm pilot... but you don't. The software runs buy itself, and is pretty good for outlook-type scheduling. Just go to palm.com to d-load. |
well i do have a palm... but its like one ofthe first ones... and i dont have a cradle for it...

Yeah, the Palm Desktop software is great. I prefer Outlook though, due to it getting Email.
