nero reboots
lately, everytime i try to run nero to make a cd, it causes my computer to restart.
anyone have even a slight idea of what may be wrong? |
did you check Automatically Shut Down the PC When Done?
|
no, as soon as i would open the program it would shut down. would not even get to make a cd.
|
argh. i'm getting to the point where i just HATE nero with a passion!! i've been using exact audio copy/ LAME for ripping from cd's
for most burning i use cd architect, but it's a bit spendy :( i'd try uninstalling / re-install nero |
Does the machine literally start doing a shutdown (i.e. do you get a message that its doing a shutdown?) or does it just spontaneously reboot or poweroff?
|
well if you can't start nero then do like longjohns said and reinstall nero.
|
Did you have EZ CD installed b4?
I have heard nothing but nightmares about having both these bits of software on one machine. Even a complete uninst didn't work, bsd'd the machine. I think they share a dll or ocx somewhere which mucks things up. If not uninst Nero and run a regclean util (are you using XP?) then reinst. |
I had a brother in-law that had Nero screw up his Win2k install that somehow he couldn't boot, it corrupted some boot up file.
If you have Win2k or XP check your logs for system error or software error messges. I have a problem with my desktop machine rebooting when I burn or even sometimes when I try to install from cd-rom. If atpi(sp?) tries to write to a illegal I/O address it will reboot. I've failed at updating the bios to get this resolved :( |
i figured it out. a few days ago i installed a USB card reader for compactflash cards (digital camera) whenever i unplug it then nero will load fine.
|
cool. (or not cool) - i used to use my oxygen8 keyboard thru USB, and the computer wouldn't shut down if the thing was still plugged in. strange
glad you sorted it |
