Been a linux user off and on for 4 years now. Dual booting has slowed down my experience with it. I probably forgot more than I've learned about Linux. Now that I wiped out Windows off my laptop and installed RH 9.0 I'm so happy.
It's nice to see alot of Linux users in this community, I feel more at home here than in other forums I frequent. Even a certain Linux forum I visit. Thanks to the few people here that have helped me with it and I look forward to helping others as well.

I'm still tied in until I can get my scanner, digi-cam, and tv-tuner working.. and a decent mpeg compatible video editor.

phunk: I use AVIDEMUX for video editing. Works great.

Kry: how did you get linux to make your penis bigger? Did you patch your kernel?

yotta, great news, maybe you can help me. I tried to use avidemux and it cut everything fine, much better than the windows program that came with my card in fact..

But the problem is it didn't have any sound! I record them as SVCD mpegs, and when I first open it, the program has me make an index file,, so I do and it open ok. Then when I edit it, no matter what format I save it as it never has sound. Is there some little trick I need to do?

"Linux made my penis bigger" was coined in another irc channy I hang out. Something about a phrase "Linux: The penis mightier" and it evolved into that

Just the thought of having to mess with Linux causes a reaction comparable to jumping in a pool of ice water. I just can never get that damn OS to run on my system properly, and if I do (Knoppix works), then it doesn't detect my DSL modem

So I'll stick with Windows

"The penis mightier" is from a Saturday Night Live Jeopardy skit, the episode with what's his face playing Nicholas Cage. The category was called "The Pen Is Mightier" but the Connery guy misread it, and Cage confused it with a self-improvement informercial gadget. A lot funnier than it sounds, actually. I understand this episode might be available on P2P, hypothetically speaking.
