thumbs.db - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I was moving around some of the porn today from the folders that ezpics downloaded them into into their proper homes on my Windows XP machine today when I got done before I deleted the empty folders I noticed it said there was still 25 megabytes in the folder. I checked, no pics, so I checked for hidden files and found the culprit. thumbs.db. Windows wouldn't open the file, so I went ahead and deleted the folder. I then searched my hard drive for thumbs.db and found almost 200 megabytes of files named thumbs.db. All of them were in folders where I store pictures. I deleted them to clear up some room, and I haven't noticed any adverse effects, I was just wondering if anybody knew what this file is, or it was ok to delete them?

its the data base for folder when ever they are viewed as thumbnails. These folders will be remade if you view files as thumbnails.

Thanks for the info, I checked the setting rekinom mentioned, I was just surprised at how much space it took up (I have 5.2 gigabytes of pics)

damn i always thought it was from uploading stuff haha they're always in my pic folders :P
