Opening .Bin files from Nero

i cant seem to open them.

nero can open up .iso files and a bunch of nero extensions, but not a .bin file.

i had to use a 3rd party program to uncompress the bin file, then burn using nero.

anyway that i can use nero to burn directly?

you need to go into file - burn image and then it will allow you to select the .cue file that corresponds with the bin file that you are trying to burn.

First you have to get the .cue file.

if all you got is the .bin file (i.e. if you dont have the cuesheet), try using MakeCue from http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~junglas/makecue.html

.bin files that are CD images go with .cue files

good luck!

There's a program called WinISO that lets you open any kind of image file. All you gotta do is open it and convert to an ISO then burn with Nero.

A .cue usually comes with a .bin but since it didn't, you'll need to make one or find the corresponding one. I'm glad that you use Nero, not that vile Roxio crap.

get daemon-tools

get a free program called daemon-tools
it creates a virtual cd-rom drive that you can load any image file into. then you can use a cd copier program to copy from the virtual cdrom drive to the blank one.

then you can load a few cd image file on one cd, so you don't waste space on a cd that only has like 100 meg of stuff on it.

i had to do it the hard way.

i had to uncompress the bin file using a 3rd party program, then burn the contents.

but i'll keep the info about cue files in mind.

Really easy the next time this happens to make the cue file. I keep a generic one with my documents. Just make sure it is in the same directory as the bin. It will look just like this:

FILE "IMAGE.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00

This is of course assuming that you are not burning a Playstation game, in which case it looks a bit different. Hope it helps, 'cause I was very excited at being the one who helps YOU for a change Dude!

gah!

[computing pet peeve rant]
don't convert/extract your image files. there is almost NeVeR a reason to do so!!@!
just use the appropriate burn proggie, which in most cases is Nero..either use your .cue (make one if need be) or upgrade to the new Nero, which burns bins just fine.
[/rant]

(the only reason to fuck with an image would be if you needed to modify it, ie add file(s)..)
