Help ... my computer is acting weird
My computer has started acting strange. Alot of links won't work anymore when I click them, even if I right click to open in a new window.
Another example is on the TFP forum jump. Before, I could click a new forum and it would automatically take me there. Now, I have to click the go button. Also, when I try to log into some of my credit card accounts, it takes me straight to a blank screen. I have gone through with McAfee virus scan and found (and deleted) a couple of viruses, but it still acts the same way. Anyone with any ideas? Help is very much appreciated! I guess all the porn surfing is catching up to me! |
Can you be more specific about what you mean by "goes to a blank screen" ? I've had issues with my computer when I had to turn back on a few SSL options in Internet Preferences, because I wasn't giving SSL permission to load up my bank's webpage.
Other than that, not entirely sure what to make of your problem. |
Have you installed a new browser recently? Sometimes if you install one over another they seem to stuff up a little. OR you could try installing a new browser and see if it makes any difference.

i've seen something like that before. seemed like explorer stopped working right on some accounts (new ones too). ususally the links that weren't well known extenstions (.html, .htm .php...) didn't work. tried to fix it, but eventually installed firebird for those accounts. i don't think my issues were virus related though.

I think my problem is wider than just explorer ...
by a blank screen I mean the web page that I'm directed to is just blank white ... also, when I type in a reply box on explorer, the letters show up very slowly... now, copy and paste arenj't working on any program, and just this morning I notice that when I go to "search" from the start button that nothing happens! |
This may very well be related to the MSBlast worm going around. You might try patching it up and cleaning your system

I'm pretty sure I have a backdoor trojan ... just having a hard time locating it the way my system is running ...
thanks for all the help from you guys |

I have had that issue before - but it was because of my use of AOL and dial-up modem - all i had to do was reconnect - but if it is affecting other non-internet programs - you might wanna go to those site above - those are my only suggestions - good luck
