CPU temps
Just wanna know at what temp does a AMD T-bird 1.2 overheat?
Mine runs at about 98-104 degrees but once I start a game it jumps to 122-125. I've had some problems with lockups during some games, mostly HL and all I can think of that it must be the temperature. I changed the cooler to a bigger one but still get the same results. I've done some search but can't seem to find the numbers im looking for. |
You're fine. Look someplace else for issues.
I've had TBirds running at over 140F with no stability issues. AMD rates them up to 160F, at 180F they're pretty much dead, though I've seen one at 220F that survived. However, if you don't have good case flow that heated air will cause stability issues with other parts of your system, ie northbridge, ram, etc. |
Temp. sounds OK (though I am used to Celsius ratings)
But What the above poster said: If your PC fails it can be overheated even if your CPU isn't... (sadly my PC never warned me that my GeForce 2 was overheating... Make sure your PC is wel ventilated! |
i cant really tell how good temps are unless they are in celcius since ive never used farenhiet for comp temps...

Welll I keep the side cover off the case for better cooling. I even point a fan at the opening of the case.
Temp is currently at 43c and I have it set up at 52c for over heat warnings. |
