19" LCD
I am looking to change my Samsung 900NF for a 19" LCD, I have done all the normal research and so am almost certain I am going to go with the Samsung 191T. Its got a 25ms response time (I know 20 is whats wanted for games, but there is no 20ms 19" I can see thats in my price range.) Im from NS Canada so there goes getting it locally.
Anyway what I wanted to know was if anyone else has used this monitor and if so, how did you like it. I dont really want to blow $989 cdn on something that wont give me what I want. Thanks. |

I've got the 151s. It's never given me any trouble. It's got a 25ms response, which you can just make out (compared to a CRT on the same box) in some FPSs if you really strain. If you're building a custom gaming box, stick with the CRT. But you won't notice the difference in response times in anything but highish-end FPSs.

I understand that, I am currently running a 900NF, considered by most to be the best 19" Flat Trinatron tube available. I am getting sick of lugging it around going to LANs, and its taking up SOOO much space on my desk. Also when people come to view there movie (I have a Digital Video Production company) the LCD monitors give them a sort of "wow" effect that a normal CRT just can't give.

I think the best thing would be to go and look for yourself. Monitors are inherently subjective so what somebody here on the TFP thinks is good might end up bugging the hell out of you. When trying it, use it like it's going to be used for, to make sure that it's what you expect.
And find a store that carries the exact model that you're looking to buy, because, as longjohns exemplified, there can be major differences across the product line of a single manufacturer. Good luck, and please let us know what you do. |

Macmanmike I would do that in a second, but I live in a little province and the closest thing to a Computer store around here is Staples. BS I know. I have to order in most of my parts and therefore I cant get a good look at them Also yeah the 191T is the EXACT one I am looking for...I got screwed too many times looking at something cheaper like a OEM ATI Card...they screwed me bad. My Radeon 64 DDR was clocked at 166/166 and a retail one was 200/200, and to think that back then all I saved was $30...GG me. Anyway thanks for your posts

I saw the Samsung 900NF at Circuit City the other day and it nearly blew my mind. The colors were beautiful. It was only $645! Too bad I don't have a job right now or else I would snatch it up!

I love my samsung 19it. It makes a great second monitor. I wouldnt use it as my main screen because i see ghosting. I got it for lan parties (alot easier to carry then my 21" sony) It oks for minor gaming but thats it. If you dont game thats much then this lcd would be perfect for you.

apple cinema display, it will work on a PC just fine, and has one of the best image qualities I've every experienced... bad side they are pricy but a 17" could be had for around your budget.
I like Samsung Panels, but recently got a NEC 19" that I'm really enjoying |

wow I like it even more in that pic then I did in the Ads and such for it.
Yeah jesus, the 900NF KICKS ASS, and the bright side of it is that I might not have to sell it if I want to get the 19" now So it would be super nice to use a 19" LCD as a Second monitor, and for LANs and such. Also if I like the 19" enough I might just give this monitor to my brother (hes using a 8 yr old 14" POS) Thanks for that site, helps a lot. I searched a lot and couldn't find many reviews of this monitor, nice to see some Finally, yeah I looked at the Apple displays, but god there expensive and they look like a plastic toy. Also I could just see everyone breaking down laughing when I walk into a LAN with a Bright Blue LCD Also as u said the price is a consideration |

I just wanted to follow up, I ended up getting the 192N, I got it for a wicked price $775 canadian, and I couldn't be happier with the screen. The picture quality competes with my 900NF for visual quality so all in all I am extremely happy with it.
I notice a bit of ghosting while in game, but I mainly play CS and Planetside (as a sniper) so I dont make many quick movements. It looks sharp, and makes my desk look much better. Thanks for all your help guys. |

I was considering replacing my 17" CTX piece of shit. Naturally, I considered an lcd flat monitor. I saw the SAmsung 191T going for $600 bucks at newegg.com. However, I read in many places that you can get a better quality image from a crt. So I'm going with that. I was set on the samsung 955DF but i'll check out the 900NF mentioned above.

I have a 191T also and I love it! It's great - except for the response time. But it works very well for what I use it for (FFXI one of my PCs and a monitor for one of my Mac servers). I doubt you'll be unhappy with it unless you're a hardcore FPS player and this is what you plan to do with it.

i just bought a samsung 213T , i like that it swivels around so i can run portrait mode, the analog input i'm not overly happy with, the text is a tad fuzzy, but the DVI is sweet.
I stopped using my 21" trinitron now, so far i've had no regrets, but i really like the portrait mode. |

Ehhh.
The Sony sdm-x82 is my monitor of choice. built in speakers and dual input, one digital and one analog. Makes it real nice for running two boxes at once, plus the lcd panels i've seen sony using are suberb. I'm due my US tax refund by thanksgiving and i think i'll just have to "put it back in the economy" with one of those. Glad to hear you found what suited your needs.

I was looking at the Sony panals, but I found them FAR to expensive compared to the equivilant Samsung, and not better image quality. So I couldn't warrenty spending $829 (a Sony 17") compared to the $775 that my 19" Samsung was. Mind you my Samsung does not have DVI, but unless your running 2 boxes, DVI Just isn't as good as people say it is for some monitors. My Analog input looks MUCH better then my friends Viewsonic DVI panal.

I have a 15" Eizo that I love, but I want something bigger. The problem is that nothing bigger than a 15" will fit on the desk in my dorm. Stupid shelving... Im glad you like that monitor. I was looking into buying the same one until I realized I couldnt fit it on my desk...
