Need help with 1U server chasis stuff
Hey gang,
I am looking to switch over from an ATX tower form-factor to a 1U server form factor. I have a machine which is colocated using an old ATX tower .. but all the colocation places I have seen want the 1U style. In short, I need help finding a place which sells a 1U chasis which will accept my ATX mobo. IDE HDD and network card. Can anybody help? |

check out supermicro bare bones cases, very well done. Be careful of "drop your own MB cases in" ventilation can be poor. |

1U is very very thin, you might run into heatsink/memory sticking up to high problems.

I have used several 1u servers and i will never use them again. Heat is always a issue, especially if the server is in between other pieces of equipment. They are relativly un-scaleable, adding cards typically is maxed at 2 and HD are limited to 2 as well. I would come up with the space for a normal 5 or 6 space server.
