they're called "GEEZUS THATS A HUGE PICTURE!!!"

Just kidding. Hmmm...like the others who have looked at this post and left scratching their head, I guess I dont know either. I do know you'll have far better luck finding these at an auto parts store than you will at a computer store. Try a few online customizing places for computers, and you'll most likely find that they are not really a computer part.

So the next question is: what are you doing with these? For the most part, if we can figure out what you're doing, we can come up with...something else!

Um, some of us 56k guys need to taken into consideration, eh. It looks similar to a concrete screw. Hole is drilled in concrete, bottom piece punched in, then screwed screwed in. The screw expands the bottom piece so that it fits into the concrete even tighter. Though, your's looks "light duty" like it's used in wood (?) or something else like that.

Seriously, you need to resize the pic.

well, it's plastic.

and it can hold up fans.

you push it in from the back and the center part goes in and basically locks it in place.

u push the center thing to push the thing out.

Looks like a 'brad' or maybe a 'rivet'. Anchor? I know it's a fastener, just don't know the exact term for this one.

Umm, that is what is usually called a doohickey or a thingamabobber.... :P. Actually I have no idea either but seeing it reminds me of the popup timer on a turkey for some reason.

Seriously tho, i would guess that it's some type of a push in bolt/fastener.

Definitely check out the fasteners aisle at an auto parts store. I dont know if they will have anything small enough for a case fan if thats what you need it for, but I would scrounge around there and see if there is anything comparable. Oh, and please resize or trim the pic.

Take it to Home Depot and find some retired craftsman who is working there to pass the time. I've yet to stump one of them, or at least not have them know someone who gave me the answer right away.

Looks like a sound isolator rivet:

If that's not it, just go to www.plastic-fastener.com and look around a bit 'till you find something that works.

edit: bah...looks like japzster beat me by 8 minutes. good job.

I have a few of these. Some of the names I've heard them called are Removable rivets, Plastic Rivets, Push locks, plastic pop rivets etc etc depending on the brand. Check the hardware store first then automotive shops, they may have some or be able to order then for you.

http://pcmods.com/details.asp?ProdID=391

The are currently on backorder. Other mod retailers may have them in stock.

I have those on my Lian-Li. I think you get find them at Directron and PCMods.com. I actually prefer fan screws to those damn things because they're a major pain in the ass to get off again.
