Another SBC Yahoo question - mail
Ever since Yahoo combined with SBC, I started getting WAYYYYYYYYY more spam (go figure  ). Anyways, I use Outlook to check my mail. Before Yahoo, SBC had a spam filter that threw the junk into a bulk mailbox and Outlook wouldn't d/l it when I checked my mail. Now that Yahoo came in, Outlook grabs the mail from all of the folders (even the bulk and trash files). How can I set Outlook up to leave that crap on the server?
Any ideas? |
Are you using POP or IMAP? If you are using IMAP, the only way I know of is to "unsubscribe" from those folders.
|
Wow, I am going to sound like an idiot, but I THINK I am using POP. What is IMAP? Sorry I am not more well versed in this.
|
it's another way to download your e-mail. You should be using pop...
|
do you have yahoo Mail plus? as far as I know the free yahoo mail doesn't have pop3 access anymore.
|
My domain name is actually sbcglobal.net
It was just recently meshed together with yahoo somehow. |
If you are using POP and are getting things from ALL folders, it is probably just the way their POP3 server works. Your best bet is to try to construct some filters, server side if possible.
