Weird boot error
I got this error when I was booting my other computer:
"Windows could not start because of the following ARC firmware boot configuration problem: did not properly generate ARC for HAL and system paths. Please check the windows documentations about ARC configuration options and your hardware reference manuals for additional information." Windows XP Pro PIII 733 MHz 768meg RAM 120 gig storage drive 8 gig boot drive Chaintec 6AJA4T mainboard Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Check and see if you've got bad RAM. I know a guy who had serious issues with his system (Windows not booting, Windows not installing, as it would claim the CD was corrupt, etc.) because of a bad stick of RAM. He even got errors in the Windows startup process telling him that his hardware was irreversibly damaged.
Replaced the stick of RAM, everything started working.
