Are there any PDA users here?
I've been coming here for a short time now and was wondering if there were any PDA users around. It's sort of a hobby of mine.
I've switched back and forth between PalmOS and PocketPC, currently I am using a Dell Axim. I pretty much use it for everything;scheduling my time, maintainng contacts, reading books, listening to music, even surf the internet at home on my WiFi. So I guess I'm just checking out if there are any other owners out there. |

I use a Compaq iPaq 3800 (forget the exact model) at work for just about everything - Inventory, notes, meeting reminders, network connectivity testing, and so on. I'd love to buy one to carry around at home and school, but I just don't have the money.
Before I started using the iPaq, I didn't understand what the deal was, but now I'd hate to do my job without it.

I own a Compaq 3765...it's around here somewhere in a heap of computer and electronic parts. I used it mainly for scheduling in my classes and keeping track of class projects. Now it's pretty much a game boy. I have still yet to get a WiFi card for it.

Audiovox Maestro 1032c, technically a Toshiba, and its a Pocket PC.
I use it mainly for scheduling and whatnot. I'd like to use it for music more since it has both CF and SD memory slots, but being a poor college kid doesn't help A WiFi card would be sweet too, I think that'll be my next addon for it. |

I have been with them since Palm Professional, I didn't get the original cuz it was too expensive for early adopters. I am using a Palm 3c at the moment. No extra spending money to get a new one... and the office, well they stop subsidizing my PDA habit.

I currently have an iPaQ 5450. Before that several Newtons. Yea, the Apple one.
I actually find the USABILITY of the Newts far better than the Pocket PC. But what with more easillt available hardware/software... <sigh> And far better integration with Windows. Oh well. P |

I have used Palms for the past 3years ranging from the Palm 3xe to the Palm VIIx to now I have the new Tungsten T. I use it for work and home to keep me straight and do not know what I would do without it. The only thing I miss with this new one is the wireless connection. It does not have a Wifi but it does have bluetooth. which I am waiting for the wireless connection card which I hear is comming.

I too have a Dell Axim X5 Advanced. I use it constantly, all day every day. My wife is always wondering if it is even possible for me to go anywhere without it. I've got 512MB of extra memory in it on storage cards (looking to upgrade to even more... say a 512MB SD card and a 1GB CF card).
I use it for all of the following: Wireless Internet/Networking Games Reading ebooks (I carry anywhere from 15-30 books on it at all times) Reading Word docs while commuting Watching Movies (rip my DVDs to encoded mpeg or divx and put em on a storage card) Music It's really the most useful device I've ever used. I got started with the original USR Palm Pilot. Then moved on to a Psion 3c, then a 5c. After the Psion experience (which I loved but for lack of software and color screens) I moved on to Windows CE devices. My first CE device was a Compaq handheld (with a keyboard in a clamshell case). Then I moved to the Casio E-105, then the E-125 and now, finally, the Dell Axim. |

I got a Handspring Visor last January and I love it. It only has 8 MB of mem, but it gets the job done for me. I use it for scheduling, reminders (most importantly), games, books, keeping phone numbers, and budget info. I've thought about pocket PC's, but my cheapy Handspring does everything I need. I got my wife a Palm m130 for her b'day, and she likes it. It's in color, which I envy, but otherwise is pretty much just like mine. Mine has a bigger screen, and I prefer that.

I have one of the OLD Zaurus', a Palm III, Palm 505 and an Ipaq 3970. The iPaq is my daily PDA, but the Zaurus is the best PDA I have ever used.

I started with a Casio E100, changed to a Handspring Visor Edge which is easily the most bang for the buck in the smallest form factor (and discontinued). I changed to an Ipaq 3955, and it's the best I've used yet. Only thing is I managed to somehow crack the damn screen.
Oh, and that nice $400+ Ipaq can't be repaired! Oh, you didn't buy the accidental damage policy? Too bad! Going for an Ipaq 5450 next. Just have to be more carefull. |

But, it suffers from the usual problem. No one supports it with apps and accessories like they do the Ipaq. There's some freeware, but that's almost all there is relatively speaking. Sucks. |

Still using my trusty Palm 3x...and still freaking everytime I can't find the thing.
Still a huge help at work (sys. admin.) and a great way to kill time. Slacked off on using it for a while, but since installing HanDbase, I've got a database written for damn near everything in my world.

I used to swear by the Palm IIIx ("All I'll ever need," I huffed) until I was forced (after breaking three IIIxs) to buy a Sony Clie SJ20.
It's small, really cheap, and has a bright white screen. I have no need for colour, but boy do I ever like the white screen. It's so bright, it still draws gasps from people who have colour units.

I have a Palm IIIe, which I got for free from one of my dad's coworkers because she never used it. This was after I put my Clie SJ20 in the same pocket in my backpack as a pair of needlenose pliers which I had forgotten about. So I pull it out to check a friend's cell number, and the screen was shot. Then I call tech support to see about getting the screen fixed. Costs more than the Clie did in the first place... I'd have to say, I love the Clie's white screen. So much easier to read,

I work for a Pocket PC development company. Ironically, all I have for personal use is an old 'n busted iPaq 3635. Maybe someday I'll upgrade.

I love the simplicity of the Palm OS. I don't care if it's a handspring, Sony, or Palm...
I'm not into the bloated PocketPC, but maybe one day I'll find an actual use for it.

I bought sony NX70-camera and a wifi adapter, and never got the darn thing to work, that was two months ago. I amost gain up on the whole area of pocket PDA's.. I have had palms, and was even an ealy adpater of CE 1 and 2's...
Thank god for DELL... I got a DELL Axim x-30...with 624 megahertz, and wi-fi as well as bluetooth built it. With in 5 minutes of opening the package I was on the web, ZERO dollars...(open wireless networks!!!) thank god are all around me. And this thing just cranks... And with the minor added freeware I downloaded, regking, some network sniffers, I have have just been more and more impressed with this device everyday...and its no tiny....EVERTHING JUST WORKS, and that is my montra when running or testing my software and hardware...Just work and I'm happy. and for a total cost of a brand new Dell Axim x-30 of 267 shipped, a complete bargain to boot!

I have a Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 and once I got the download that allows you to use the command line, I wouldn't trade it in for any other PDA platform.

I'm thinking of splurging for a Treo 600 anyone have any experience with it? I like that it combines Palm OS and a phone (GSM for international), email and Palm links quite well with ACT...
I'm just nervous about plunking down the $$...
