Buy something that costs 25,000, and then return it. get the cash and build your own.
You could have one uber cool system. or you could get like 10 kickass top of the line ones and have your own little LAN party at your house for you and your friends. Or, with a little more investment, you could open your own LAN gaming cafe. Hmmm. I gotta get me 25k.

The problem is that I don't think you could build it at BestBuy. And 25K should buy it 5 times over... (assuming you are looking for a wintel compatible workstation class system). Not to mention that the most 'asskick' system today will only hold that moniker for a couple of months at most (and cost a premium, but with 25K what do you care, right?). You would be better off buying nice displays and sound equipment from them that you could reuse over several systems lifespans.

Personally I think the best comp right now would be a dual operton board with AGP support, supposedly it exists although i have not seen anything offically. That system hooked with either a radeon 9800 or gforce 5900 ultra would be about the best to date, but even that would only hit you like 5-6k. Although if you hooked it up to a 42 in plasma and surround sound speakers you would be getting up there.

All I know is if I had 25K to spend I'd have at least a 42" plasma. I'd just connect that to my rig now and get a new vid card. With the rest I'd buy a new home entertainment system. Congrats on the shopping spree.
BTW, how did you win it? |
