The Flash Clock... I was looking at a friends site and saw he had a really awesome flash clock that scrolled horizontally showing year, month, date, day, hour, minute & second. Thinking that would be cool as a wallpaper I activated my Googles and went on a trek thru a bunch of garble-de-gook. Though I didn't find the clock I was in searching for, I did find THIS!!! Now my problemo, can someone please tell me how to install that so it's on my desk top? Thanks in advancism!!! :D |

1)Prepare a HTML file with the Flash applet, so that it appears the way you like it in your web browser. 2)Go to Display Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > New 3)Choose the file you prepared in step 1) The page you prepared will appear on your desktop. You can move/resize it, and then lock it in place when you're done. |

 Try stretching this over the whole desktop... a bit boring, but I am sure you can spice it up somehow: <html> <body bgcolor="#006666"> <table width="100%" height="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td align="right" valign="bottom"><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="279" height="280"> <param name="movie" value="clock.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <embed src="clock.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="279" height="280"></embed></object></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> EDIT: Oh yea, this assumes that you are keeping the clock.swf file in the same folder as this html file. |

hehehe... it looks like Active Desktop may be making a comeback. (actually, I guess it was intended for 'allways on' connections in the first place) |
