Hard Drive Icon
I have recently had my hard drive icon turn into an unknown file type icon. But, when I pull up My Computer, I see the original hard drive icon for about 3 ms. Any ideas how to get it back? I tried the autorun.inf notepad file saved to c: root , but that didn't seem to work either.

download a program called 'tweak ui' from the microsoft site or from www.downloads.com
it has a feature called 'rebuild icons'. it might fix it.

Drive Icons
Here is a link to an article that describes how to change your drive icon and label.
Take a look at this. You can either force it to something else, or if the registry key exists, you might be able to delete it and have it return to normal. **Note: Edit your registry at your own risk. |
