Multi-Display Graphics Card
So I'm building a new PC, something I haven't done in a few years, and this time I'd like to have the capability of running 3 monitors. I have a dual display setup now, and most graphics cards seem to support dual displays with a dvi and vga plug, but what I'm looking for is 3 display support. I've seen some cards with dvi/vga/hdmi outs, and if I could get an hdmi to vga adapter that might work IF those cards support 3 displays at once. The motherboard I've got has one PCI-E port, so I guess SLI isn't an option. I could always use a standard PCI card to run the third monitor, but that seems like a bottleneck to me.
Anyone have any suggestions on graphic cards that meet my needs? I know about the Matrox cards that are designed specifically for that purpose, but those are a little cost prohibitive, I'm trying to keep it under $100 if at all possible. _____ edit: I'm impatient, so I went to Best Buy, couldn't find anything suitable in my price range... Came home, did some more searching online and ended up buying the Radeon 5770 off newegg for $129 (99 after rebate). In case anyone is interested, the Radeon cards with Eyefinity support three displays. |
Bad decision, should've got a 6950 and flashed it.
