create your recovery dvd?

can anyone tell me what this message means.

everytime i start my computer, it asks " create your recovery dvd?". there is a remind me later button, and then a create now button. everytime i click create now, it asks me to insert a disc (i'm asuming just a blank disc) i insert one and the computer crashes.

when i click on remind me later it keeps popping up when my computer starts.

it's really frustrating me, and i'd really like to get rid of it.

any suggestions?

Instead of windows discs, driver discs, and application discs, most mainstream brand computers (HP, Acer, Toshiba, etc) have recovery discs. Once created, they will allow you to restore your computer to a factory "out of the box" state. No more need to format, install windows, install drivers, then install applications. Insert disc 1 and reboot, start from disc, follow instructions, insert next disc til all recoveries are used, usually 1-6 discs. Voila, your computer is back to how you took it out of the box, only without personal data so keep a good backup. If your computer is still prompting you to create your discs I am assuming it is < 1 year and most likely under warranty. If it is erroring while trying to create your discs, then you should try different discs and make sure you are NOT trying to use RWs. If changing disc brands does not work for you, then I would suggest contacting the vendor or manufacturer about facilitating a warranty repair. Please fee free to PM me or add to the thread if you have further questions. Hope this helps
