Bit Comet problem
Just got a new pc running Windows 7, and i have been busy reloading it. I tried to get Bitcomet to run on it and it won't happen. I get to the box for choosing a language I hit next and nothing happens. I bring up task manager and nothing is running listed as bitcomet. Does anybody know what's going on?

Not really sure, but I wouldn't use bitcomet, I use utorrent because it's more acceptable to sites and better tracking of stats.
what is running? there should be some sort of installer applications.

Your problem is not that BitComet isn't working, it's that you're trying to use BitComet at all.
BitComet - Controversy and criticism Use uTorrent.

Well OK, I skipped over this thread, opting to offer no help at all rather than tell him he's using the wrong program which is what I normally do, but I guess since it's something we seem to unanimously agree on.... don't use BitComet, use μTorrent
If you insist on BitComet, I honestly have no idea why it won't run for you. I assume you've checked to be sure the version you downloaded is compatible with Windows 7?

When I saw the thread title, I actually said out loud "fuck your Bitcomet."
Opening the thread, I can see that this is the popular opinion. The other thing to do if you haven't already (aside from getting a torrent client that's actually good) is to make sure you have the latest version. Windows 7 is a very different environment as compared to XP, and compatibility is by no means assured. A quick Google search indicates that Bitcomet version 1.14 will run fine under 7. If you already have 1.14, then I don't know what else to tell you.

Thanks for the help. I had only used bitcomet because a friend recommended it I downloaded utorrent and all is right with the world.
I posted it here knowing I would get good honest answers and I did, thanks all
