Server Error code
My server keeps restarting and giving me this error in the log.
Uncorrectable ECC Error Dimm 2,2. Now I am thinking this means a bad stick of ram but I am new to servers so correct me if I am wrong. Also does the Dimm 2,2 mean its in the second dimm?

Yes, The error message does indicate bad ram.
Depending on the server, you may need to take out 2 sticks of ram if your server needs memory to be upgraded in pairs. Dimm 2,2 could mean the second dimm, but it could also be referring to bank 2 dimm 2 as well. Hope that helps. |

It did help out. Just confirmed what I thought. Turned out to be the second Dimm. And since its under warranty dell shipped me out a new stick today. Only bad things out of it all is the windows boot ended up being corrupted from to many hard resets. Had to do a reinstall of Windows Server 08
