Little Help Please
Man.. I've never had this issue before and after banging my head and trying to find solutions online I come here..
So I have a Intel BOXDP55WG LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX mobo with an i7 870 processor, everything installed fine, including the heatsink. Here's the problem, it won't see more than two SATA II drives. I've checked the BIOS settings and they all appear to be fine. After windows was installed, I tried to add the drive and it still didn't see anything. The drive works fine in another computer so I know all 3 SATA II's work. The funny part is that after changing the cables out to different ports, the machine wouldn't even post, until I removed all but the main drive. After it posted, I restarted with the second drive in and it was fine. Add the third drive and no post. Any ideas on what this could be? Maybe a BIOS update or BIOS setting that I'm missing?? I need this computer up and running yesterday so this is starting to piss me off to say the least. |

Man. This is something I could resolve if it were in front of me. It's difficult when I can't fly through the BIOS.
RAID off? Make sure it's not thinking it should be making a RAID 0 or 1 array. SATA ports set to IDE or NCQ or whatever they call native SATA now? Make them all IDE for now, but you can go NCQ later (requires F6 for win install). Did you make sure all ports were enabled, including onboard PCI? I can't think of any other reasons at the moment.

yeah all the sata stuff is set to IDE. I'll check to make sure all are enabled including the PCI when I get to the office but I'm almost positive they are. I'm also going to check for a BIOS update to see if that changes anything. what about the secondary SATA settings? Should that be enabled? It's enabled, but wasn't sure if it was needed or not.

All that's missing from this lovers' spat is spray-on tan, a couple pairs of hot pants, and some stylish haircuts. As it stands we've got Eden, who's pretty much a blameless victim here, and gucci, who'd be kicked out of any self-respecting gay bar for being too deeply closetted.
