Problems installing XP SP2
Hey guys,
So, I'm having trouble installing service pack 2. A few months ago, my system crashed and I was forced to reinstall Windows altogether. The only CD I could find was an old XP SP1 CD. Ever since, I've been unable to install SP2. Every time I try, it freezes at the "Running processes before install" part. Now, I could easily just reinstall with an XP SP2 CD, but I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of reinstalling the 50 million drivers and programs that are required for such an ordeal. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix it?

You should post how you fixed it so the google searchers will benefit from your experience.

Ok.
There is one process that will freeze up during the "Running Processes Before Installation" step. I don't remember exactly what it's called. I think it's something like Fixcc or something to that extent. I know it starts with an F. Anyways, you can tell what it is because it'll be using a massive amount of processing power. All you have to do is end that process, and the installation will continue on.
