Have we talked about Dell recently?
The Dell Online Store: Build Your System
I am a bit of a Dell fanboy since they started releasing deals like this. 2.66 GHz core 2 duo 2 GB ram vista DVD burner 160 GB HDD 5.1 audio keyboard mouse 1 year warranty on the whole system 22" Samsung widescreen LCD FOR $369!!!!!!!! Good God Almighty. This deserves to be bought just because of the outrageous deal it is.... Plus it's a Dell Vostro which is in the Small Business class. That means that they don't come with the bloatware shit that most store-bought PCs have on them. Hate on store-bought PCs all you want but this PC would cost bare minimum $600 to build on NewEgg. And then you have to put it together. And worry about dead pixels. And worry about BSODs, and crashes, and freezing, and RMAs, DOAs, etc. If you're not into building PCs and you just want a damn PC, this is what you should get, pronto. I've ordered 5 of these before for family members and they are simply great PCs. They usually have the ATX case option which means you can upgrade it with a videocard if you want. Then you have a freaking gaming PC. /fanboy mode off |
My current desktop PC/gaming machine is a Vostro 410 I ordered as a deal. It came with 2.40 GHz Core2 Quad, but I paid a little extra to upgrade to the NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GT.
I saved a few hundred all said. I'd do it again. |
I agree that it is a great deal but it doesn't include a monitor. It's $679 with the 22" samsung.

That's an insane deal, Lasereth, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a basic PC that can be upgraded.
|
That is a ridiculous deal but it is a loss leader designed to get people to the website. The prices for upgrades are fucking ricockulous:
CPU Upgrades: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8600 (3.33GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB) [add $325] Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB) [add $230] HDD Upgrade: 1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™ [add $320] Second HDD: 1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™ [add $660] |
I don't understand why I have to add $99 to downgrade to XP. I can't be the only Vista hater here.

I stand corrected. That is a monster deal. |
I opened this thread ready to bash Dell with the rest of the geek squad on here... alas, that is not the case. Great deal tho, a 22' LCD and a PC for that price? Hell, I might buy one and resell the SOB to someone else. Actually.... is there a limit on how many you can buy?

Just be sure that the price is going to go back up. Otherwise you're SOL. If I were you, I might see if I could line up a buyer first, or at least a potential buyer.

One thing to keep in mind - warranty issues. If something is fucked up on the Dell, have you voided the warranty by selling it? I don't know, but you should investigate it.

People here like anything associated with NASCAR, drinking beer, guns, Jesus, or Wal-Mart. If I could make a PC that you could drive a NASCAR car and it held your beer in a cooling system, I would be a fucking millionaire. |
ok.. so here's what you do.
Grab a couple of these computers, rig a liquid cooling heatsink up so it can also cool down a cupholder, then paint the cases fire engine red, throw a budweiser logo on the side and pain ghost flames around it. Make the background a machine gun, and when the thing starts up, have it sound like a nascar car engine. Millions. oh and since it's my idea, I'm entitled to half of your earnings. |

I totally underestimated your awesomeness.

Gentlemen I believe I'm entitled to 1/3 since I provided the deal!!!!!!!
|
Ridiculous...thats 3 brand new laptops for the price of 2 sticks of macbook pro memory, or 5 new laptops for the price of one macbook pro.
