Bass next to computer tower?

Is it safe? Will the vibrations wear out my computer faster?

Unless it's moving other objects on your desk from the vibrations, I don't see why it would.

Unless you're talkin' like 1200W subwoofers here, there shouldn't be an issue. Any regular subwoofer puts out directional vibration, and unless the hole is directly pointed at the tower, very little case vibration would occur.

The only part which would be sensitive to physical vibration is the hard drive, anywho, and they're quite well shielded. I have my sub sitting directly on top of my tower.

Oh ok, that makes me feel better. Well its nothin massive, but I can feel the vibrations in the carpet, the desk, and the computer tower (minor though, nothing is 'jumping').

Just make sure it is nowhere near your monitor (if it is an old CRT) as you will get some nice warping effects over time. I don't think the same is true for LCDs.

Yeah, the larger concern is actually from the magnetic driver and not the vibrations. Satellite speakers are usually shielded, but a subwoofer may not be.

Still not a huge issue, but I wouldn't want them sitting right next to each other. Just to be on the safe side.

It is going to smell really bad. However once it has been out of water long enough the vibrations should stop. The smell is going to linger though.

I envisioned a completely different Bass, the two options being seen below:

My apologies as either one of my pieces of advice regarding the above-mentioned situations have no bearing here.

Don't be silly; the small mouth bass and the beer go on top of the TV not the computer.

Good call, but that's a Striped Bass and it would be a good idea to put some distance between your 'magnetic' hard drive and the 4"+ magnet in the 'Bass'. They don't get along very well.
