Anyone with a Palm Pre yet?
I'm on Sprint, have been with them forever and planned on getting one of these devices to replace one of the Blackberries on my account right now.
I'll be getting one as part of a special selection of members on the Buzzaboutwireless.com forums to review and use to give our impressions of the unit. Since they hit retail channels today and I won't get mine until Tuesday does anyone have any first impressions of the device or any questions and answers they can share? Initial impressions from all the reviews and previews online I hope this phone works as well as it looks, it really seems innovative in the way that you can just scroll through open apps and change them on the fly without missing a beat. Only time will tell how well this new OS will stand up against the very strong competition though already on the market.

Well, Since I work with sprint, I have had the opportunity to play with the palm pre and it is the pretty good phone. The GUI system is almost as flawless as the I phone and internet searches and retrieves quick on the sprint network. The only issue that I have with the phone is that it feels cheap....lol. I pushed it open and played with the keyboard and it feels as it would break under pressure. Im kinda rough with the phones I have and I have a Touch Pro with alltel which works well. Did you get it yet and how did you like it?

I have a Pre and so far I love it. The ease of mutitasking really changes the way you use it compared to an iphone or blackberry. I played around with 20 websites open at once just to see how it handled them and there was a little slowdown when i was switching from one card (window) to the next. But within each card it was nearly as fast as if you only had one app running. The mail app is really nice because it consolidates all your inboxes from different accounts into one view.
My favorite aspect is the way the notification system works. If new texts, emails, or other notifications come in while you are using an app your app just rolls up a little to make room for the notification and pertinent info just appears at the bottom of the screen. You can keep using your app and deal with the notification at your leisure it doesn't force you to deal with it to continue working. If you ignore a notification it will shrink down to a mall icon at the bottom right of the screen. very nice. Some apps like pandora take advantage of that small icon area to allow you to control their app (switch tracks, view song info) while you are still inside a different app. The whole experience is just so organic and free flowing. My biggest gripe would be that the keyboard is small and takes a while to get used to. I'm getting faster with it, but it's still not as comfortable as a blackberry pearl or a treo 700.
