how to b/u mail from AOL 7.0
Yes, I know AOL is a festering dungheap. Its not my fault that my company uses it.
Anyone have a clue how to back up my mail filing cabinet? I've got multiple folders full of important emails in there. While the owner of my company assures me that it is a snap back it up, he has encountered serious difficulties explaining "how." Thanks.

I'd sign up for a real pop3 account (eo.yifan.net is my fave, being that its free), then forward all that mail to your new account.
Set up your new account in Outlook or Outlook Express and download all that mail you just forwarded. Open the folder you want the mail in, drag the emails into that folder. Now you have a backup. (Yes, I know this is kind of convoluted, but now you don't have to depend on AOL, and this way you can read the emails on any Windows computer.) |
