Media players who's got 'em and how do you like 'em?

I just replaced an old 40 gig no frills Ipod, it was just too heavy and I was never happy with the sound quality from it. So after a lot of surfing and reading I settled on a Cowon D2 16gig and a set of Phonak Audeo PFE, IEM (in ear monitors). They haven't arrived yet so as I sit pondering hours of crystal clear audio on the go, I'm wondering what kind of techno goodies my fellow TFP'ers are using.

I would post links to the above mentioned prods, but I'm not allowed yet.

or maybe I am?

Project Management Professional????? how do I get them to make music?

i like my rio, but I love my ipod 160gb. Way too much storage for my needs that I'm never without any of my music, movies, or TV.

WooHoo, I can post links. Neato.

Project Management Professionals can be induced to play music with the proper motivation, often involving a stick and a network dead zone. (They do love to communicate and will often do anything to maintain that ability, the stick is for protection when they lunge for your PDA).

What is a PMP?

As media players go, I have an 8gb Insignia with an 8gb expansion card.

PMP = Portable Media Player

I have a Cowon D2, its small with a SDHC expansion slot, mine is old so it has 4gig flash and a 4gig SDHC card, but it has a nice touch screen and great battery life, I bought it so I could go on vacation and I never had to charge it when either watching movies or listening to music. I got an iPhone last year so that pretty much replaced the D2 but I still use it when being active because its much smaller.

I have a Sansa Fuze 4GB and an iPod Mini (2G) 4GB. I bought the Fuze after a bad breakup, ex-GF had the iPod and I never thought I would get it back, lol. Anyway, I like the Fuze a lot more than the iPod.

Check out the forums on this sight. There are a lot of hacks for the D2, other players as well. I looked for a while before settling on the D2. It sound like a great player.

I'm eyeballing the Sansa CLIP 2gig, for rougher environments. Motorcycling, work, hiking, camping, fishing.......all those places, it's likely to end up in an unretrievable locale.

RogueGypsy, I bought my father the Sansa Clip 1GB. Great little player. Weighs like nothing. Has a good display. Not the best controls, but that's mainly due to the size. Can't go wrong with it, imho. iPod Shuffle is nice, sure, but I can't handle not having a display.

I like the specs on some of the Cowon gear, but I've never seen it for sale in the UK.

I've yet to physically touch a D2, ordered it online. Check the link to the ABI forums above if interested. The populous seems to be primarily European and Australian. They may have some insight.

I saw the Clip at Best Buy and was amazed at the size and weight. It's like a box of tic-tacs without the rattle. The organic LED looks cool too. For the price, I'm gonna hafta try it.
