I already opted out of the entire list the first day I heard about this. As to how well that works and/or holds up with time, I'll believe that when I see it.
IMO the almighty advertising dollar is way too pervasive in our lives. E.g., the directed ads and personal data accumulation from tracking of "smart phone", GPS, and similar gadgets annoys me to the point that I'd never get one of those devices unless I knew I could drop off their radar screen. If they want to know something about me, they'll have to pay me for it directly...or so I wish/fantasize. |
