iPhone 3G jailbreaking, Cydia, etc....
I have a few questions about jailbreaking an iPhone 3G and was hoping somebody on here had some experiance in the area.
First I was wondering if Jailbreaking your iPhone has any repercussions from Apple or Cingular? Once is had been Jailbroken can it be restored back to factory settings? If I don't like the new jailbroken iPhone can I go back or is it a once and your done kind of thing? Can i still use the Apple App Store or am I now limited to Cydia Apps? I would also appreciate any horror stories or success stories about jailbreaking your 3G. Thank you everyone and I look forward to reading all the responses.

Everything stays the same, plus you can use Cydia. It voids your warranty, but you can always boot to DFU mode and restore, and they can't tell. The number of Apple store employees with jailbroken iPods and iPhones should give you an idea of how much they really care. It's just another incentive for you to buy their product.
Just don't be a piece of shit and pirate or trade apps. Developers put hard work into them and deserve a few bucks from you. edit: reading up on the full release of redsn0w, and it warms my heart to see that overflowing unchecked values is still the way to hack things. Reminds me of the old days. Last edited by MSD; 03-13-2009 at 05:56 AM.. |
