Bought myself a new laptop what do you guys think?

mmkay bought this sucker at The shopping channel for about $1300ish with taxes + shipping and handling included, and im doing a 9 installment of 127/month. My question is what do you guys and gals think of the spec? Ive shopped around and for the price tag of 127/month I had to get it..it also comes with a hp backpack, hp mouse and a stereo headphone. Here are the stats Its no monster machine but it hella runs better than my p1 2.4ghz 768mb ddr ram with 128mb geforce fx 5200 lol.

k be honest..does it suck..did i get ripped off..could have i gotten a better laptop for cheaper? if your bored you can post other laptops since im 'thinking' of maybe getting a gaming notebook..who knows..

PS: i actually like the 14.1 screen..makes the laptop really light weight...

k i'll stop babbling.. cheers!

That's a nice computer. $1100 CND is about right for that model with that huge hard drive. Nice looking model...I've seen it. And HP is a good company. I have the Limidted edition HP Pavillion DV 6000 in solid white....had it for just over a year and it runs like a charm. Absolutely no problems. Enjoy it.

It's ok. I prefer intel chips because they have higher performance right now, but that one will do.

If you game, bigger screen is better, but of course it's heavier. I have a 17in dell vostro with 8600m GT, and it's a great little gaming laptop. Got it for 1400.00 US at the time, but they don't sell my model anymore.

I would have got the Gateway FX series laptop instead. It has a powerhouse GeForce 9800 videocard in it and a Core 2 Duo. And it's cheaper. That laptop doesn't list the videocard it has on the specs page so I assume it sucks. Any idea what videocard is in it?

Does 320 gig really qualify as 'huge'? I clicked the link after reading this expecting to see a TB or better...I've got 500 gigs in my pocket right now.

I happen to work at FutureShop in computers and that exact model is $999.99. Future Shop: Computers: Laptops: HP 14.1" AMD Turion X2 RM-70 Dual-Core Mobile Processor 2.0GHz Laptop (DV4-1166CA)

320Gb is the largest drive you'll find in your run of the mill laptops. Anything larger is likely to have two drives in it. The 500gb notebook drives haven't really been seen just yet. Between the Radeon 3200 and GeForce 8200 it's some of the best integrated graphics you can get in laptops. It will handle light gaming. Just don't expect to be playing Crysis at med to high settings without starting a fire haha.

If you don't need the bag, mouse or headphones save $140 and get it at FS. Or you can put the $140 towards the accessories YOU actually need.

That videocard is really really bad. The Gateway FX series would have been a better choice. Run some games on it and see if you're satisfied...but don't be surprised if it runs poorly!

well im not really planning to play hardcore games on it. maybe games from 2-3 years ago. If i want to play all the new games i would need to build me a pc.

Yea ive been getting mixed reviews about that card but most ppl do say it sucks for gaming

Or you could buy the Gateway FX model for $1100.

Powerhouse videocard, powerhouse CPU, 4 GB ram, will run all of the newest games at the max settings even better than my desktop (which is still good).
