Help me choose my next phone.
I am due for a new phone and need help deciding.
I am a Verizon Customer in the Detroit, MI area. The three phones I have narrowed it down to are The LG Decoy LG Decoy Limited Edition (Verizon Wireless) Cell Phone reviews - CNET Reviews The Samsung Sway Samsung Sway SCH-U650 (Verizon Wireless) Cell Phone reviews - CNET Reviews The LG Env2 LG enV(2) - black (Verizon Wireless) Cell Phone reviews - CNET Reviews Now a little about my phone habits... I use the phone mostly for calls... der, which means I don't text often if at all, amybe 15 or 20 texts on my current phone. I just can't seem to get the hang of texting... blah. I don't generally listen to music on my phone, I don't go online on my phone etc... I would like a halfway decent camera on it which all of these seem to have. I also like a larger display. I do enjoy playing the occasional puzzle game or something to that effect on the phone tho. I would like to keep the price down too and the most expensive one of those three is the sway at $20 the other 2 are free. Anyone own any of these phones? How is the call quality, Picture quality of the camera, ease of use. The Decoy comes with a built in blue tooth which is kinda cool. I am kinda leaning towards the env2 because of the coolness factor but don't know if I have any use for the full qwerty keyboard. Any help would be appreciated. If I posted this in the wrong forum, I'm sorry but wasn't sure where else this would fit. DonnyBoy |

I have the EnV2 and absolutely love it. Full size QWERTY with dual displays. Text messaging is really easy and I also use the Notepad feature quite often because of the generously-sized keyboard. I wasn't into text messaging much because I hated the 2-2 3-3-3 crap associated with non-keyboard phones, but after I got the EnV2 I was all over it. EnV2 camera is much better than the old RAZR V3, the only thing I can really compare it with from experience. EnV2 is a really nice media phone when paired with Verizon's service and the Micro-SD slot that allows you to put your own music / pics / videos on the phone.
I prefer bar phones over phones that require flipping / twisting / opening to use. The EnV2 can be used as a normal bar phone for most working functions, and can be flipped open for more advanced things like adding contacts or sending text messages the civilized way. ... However... if you don't really do a lot with your phone except phone... I'd go for the cheapest one. They're all roughly the same regarding your needs. Ok well I went and ordered the Env2 for myself and the wife. I hopes I like it. I was going to go for the voyager. Put Verizon wanted me to upgrade to a Nationwide calling plan... I didn't want to do that so I got the env2. I always get the lowest pricing plan because with the free verizon to verizon calls I never go over even a few hundred minutes between 3 phones.
Don Edit: I hope I don't become one of those text addicts... like I heard some girl texted something like 10,000 texts in a month recently!!! |

I never had any desire for texting, never wanted to even try it.....then I bought a Blackberry Curve in October.....BAD MOVE!!!
I signed up for a shit load of alerts from ESPN and all my friends text the hell out of me now, I don't wonder how I got along without it, but I don't remember what I did before I had it.

They're solid little phones. Small size, nice wide internal screen and one of the best full size keyboards I've ever touched on a smellphone.
Bar Phone Bliss: I particularly like that I have nothing to manipulate except the answer button when I want to pick up a call. |

I picked up the Env2 a few months ago. I love it. Picture quality is good, sound quality is good, I can actually type on the damn thing if need be, and it locks out unless you press the ok button which means no more accidental button hitting while its in my pocket. It's also thinner than my old Motorola. The only thing I don't like about it, is that you have to have it flipped open for speakerphone.

Yeah, that's the only knock I have seen about it, but I rarely use speaker phone anyway.
