Viewing another pc on network
I can view my bedroom pc from my family room but not the other way. I know it's got to be the way I'm setting it up but can't figure it out. I an using windows XP home.
Any help would be appreciated! |
check your firewalls on the PC you can't see?

Running the Network Setup Wizard (located in Control Panel), specifying a unique name for each computer and a common workgroup should sort out any issues with the Windows firewall and sharing configuration.
If you're running 3rd party personal firewall or internet security software, make sure you trust the local network or IP range, and that the trusted zone allows file sharing. |
I have tried running the Network Setup Wizard on both pc's which are both runnin Window's XP- Home addition. I get this far and have tried blank dvd's and a memory stick and it won't let me progress. What am I doing worng? http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/3...messagees4.jpg

WinXP home doesn't allow RDP / terminal server. Only professional does.
Install VNC on the home machine and the VNC viewer on the other one. Then you can see the machine with VNC, which behaves alot like RDP. |
