.SCB File Extension
I download an iPaper (never even knew they existed until today) from Scribd, using FF's DownloadHelper add-in. I ended up with a .scb file that I cannot open. I tried using Word and Adobe Reader...no luck.
The file is essentially a pdf doc, wrapped in this flash shell so it can be viewed in Scribd's flash player (I'm guessing here). Any ideas how I can view my file offline? |
Either this part of the board doesn't like me, or I'm asking the wrong questions. :|

Doesn't look like you can, and you can't run it from a local server either. They only seem to offer the embeddable viewer, no actual reader and no self-hosting options. iPapers seem to be meant to be viewed online, period.

didn't see it until now... I'm a fan of scribd...
don't use the FF helper tool, use Scribd to do it for you. Can I download the documents on Scribd? By default, Scribd makes documents available for download in their original format, as a PDF file, and as plain text. Click the Download icon above the document window to choose which format to download. Users can choose which formats to make available for download, so some formats may not be available on some documents. Can I download the iPaper document to my own computer? iPaper documents are meant to be viewed over the web, much like a YouTube video. For your convenience, Scribd makes documents available for download in their original format, as a PDF file, and as plain text. |
Thanks, Cyn. :)
