Advanced Search Tool
Hey guys
I'm looking for a tool with a bit more functionality than normal Windows search. The other day I needed to do some cleanup on a machine that is used to store backups of user data and I wanted to know which files / folders were the largest, and what the file types were etc. Basically, if there were movies/music and other crap on the machine that I could delete. Normal Windows search can't do what I want (or I don't know how to tell it to do that). Any ideas? Thanks, healer |
I used to use SequoiaView back when I tech-supported Windows machines. It gives a graphic view of each folder with a block representing the size of each file, and you can color-code the filetypes.
I'm pretty sure it is free. |
I use SpaceMonger 1.4.0, which is still free.
Download Click Free Software and Scroll Down. It gives a nice view of the files and their relative size to the drive: http://www.sixty-five.cc/sm/img/sm1x-large.gif |
